Rigid Pavement Design

Installation Procedure:

1.  Once you receive a copy of the software, save the entire spreadsheet (workbook) to your
computer by, since running the file off of a floppy disk will not work.

2. Open the file in Excel 97.

3.  Press Ctrl + j on your keyboard before using this spreadsheet.

4.  Fill out the "Input Form".  The general agency information is not required for the analysis, but
it may be desirable to include this information for display on the "Results" sheet.

5.  Click on the "Calculate" button to calculate the thickness.

6.  To view sensitivity plots, click on the appropriate button on the "Input Form".

7.  To calculate seasonal k-value or traffic, click on the appropriate button on the "Input Form". 
This will bring up a separate calculation worksheet.  Once the worksheet is completed, click on
the Calculate button.  To paste this value into the "Input Form", click on the "Export to Input
Form" button.

Notes, General:

A red triangle in an input box signifies a note that is relevant to that input.  To view a note,
simply position the cursor over the input box.

The spreadsheet includes sample inputs.  You may find it efficacious to retrieve these inputs into
the spreadsheet and then edit them as needed.

Due to differences in your hardware/software setup, you may need to resize some of the columns
on the spreadsheet to be able to read them.

The figures accompanying the text have been scanned into the spreadsheet.  It may be useful to
print out the figures for reference.
